Government Affairs Events, Meetings, and Seminars

The HBA is committed to providing opportunities for our members to interact with elected officials to ensure that both the challenges and successes of our membership are constantly being re-enforced to legislators and policy makers in Washington D.C., Harrisburg, and locally. By providing opportunities for members to educate themselves and our elected officials, we are making great strides at effecting policy and legislative decisions on all levels of government.

As we approach the 2008 elections, it is vital that the HBA continue educating elected officials and candidates about the legislative, regulatory, and political realities that face the building industry. The Bucks/Montgomery Committee for Affordable Housing, the Political Action Committee of the HBA, will be holding candidate interviews and making recommendations for financial and grassroots support. Participation in this process is essential to protecting the ability to build homes and conduct business in Pennsylvania.

2008 Legislative Breakfast

On Friday, March 28, 2008, the HBA held the 2nd annual Legislative Breakfast at the Toll Brothers’ Design Studio. Once again, this event was very well attended by both elected officials and
HBA members. Senator Greenleaf, Representative Anthony Melio, Representative Tom Murt, Representative Rick Taylor, and representatives from Senator Connie Williams, and Senator Robert Wonderling were all in attendance.
